Please refer here for a quick refresher before continuing.

This is a view of the other side of the street from earlier today.  Apparently our hero continues to have issues with furniture slipping out of his buddy’s truck.  Or his wife got sick of his shit and decided to dump it on the side of the road for him.  The black vinyl fold-out couch seems to make sense for a guy who’s big on AC/DC, but the white dresser was a bit of a surprise.  I actually took a peek and it wasn’t that bad.

I don’t understand what’s going on here, I really don’t.  I’m used to seeing some trash on the sides of roads.  A paper here, a candy wrapper there, a beer bottle here, a used condom there.  We’ve all seen it.  But a living room’s worth of furniture just tossed to the side of the road with no regard for cleanliness, safety, or just plain common decency?  I’m kind of blown away by this.

It’s easy to blame this on a general malaise due to our government falling apart, Randy Moss retiring, The Real Housewives of (insert city name here), The Smurfs, or Double-Fisted Bacon Cheeseburger-flavored potato chips, but I say nay.

This is just plain ol’ “not giving a fuck”.  Period.  You can try to rationalize this another way, but the bottom line is there are people living amongst us who just don’t give a fuck.  They don’t care that someone may have been able to use that black vinyl fold-out couch.  They don’t care that a family in hard times could use a decent looking dresser.  They don’t give a damn that it makes a good town look like a dump.  And they certainly don’t give a shit that someone has to pick this up and dispose of it properly because of their inconsiderate ass.

I usually try to inject a bit of humor in these posts, but I didn’t find this all that funny.  Sorry for being a downer, that’s my view.
